G E T S T A R T E DYou’ve got enough on your plate, so I try to make this part as easy on you as possible. I’ll work within the structure your organization prefers. Purchase orders, bids, quotes, no-time-for-preliminaries emergencies, whatever.
That said, here are the basic guidelines I work under:
- I’ll prepare a written estimate for your project prior to starting work, detailing what I will do and what the fee includes. No surprises.
- Projects are considered work-for-hire. Once my invoice is paid, your company holds the copyright.
- I’ll ask for a deposit on the first project we do together, but almost never again. I’ve been doing this a long time and I’ve always gotten paid, so I’d rather handle payment in a way that means less paperwork for you.
- Oh, and deadlines are sacred.
